Then, with captions: "Row, stride, climb or march" over an elliptical and the machine picker; "15-second calibration"; "Your workout is the engine" at the start line; "Race rivals" while passing the rival Pip Calloway; "Work harder. Fly higher." through a neon night city and over tropical islands; "Every race is a workout" over the results; "New thrusters and finishes" in the hangar; and "Track every workout" on the stats screen. Coming to Meta Quest · December 2026

Race a jet bike powered by your workout.

Thrustline turns the cardio you already do into a race. Your headset follows the rhythm of your stride or stroke: work harder and you climb, ease off and you sink. Three laps, about ten minutes, on courses from a neon night city to the Moon.

How it plays

Your effort is the throttle.

  1. Calibrate

Set up a profile for your machine once. A short calibration learns your cruising pace, so effort is measured against you, not a stranger.

  2. Ride

Push above the hold line to take off and climb. Fly through launch gates, catch boosters and speed chevrons, and find the door in each laser wall.

  3. Race

Three laps against the ghosts of your best runs, or against a rival. Each race saves your lap times, effort, distance, and estimated calories.

Works with

The machine you already have.

No sensor, no cable, no app to pair. The headset reads the rhythm of your movement.

  • Elliptical Stride as you normally would.
  • Rowing machine Seated, and full body.
  • Stair climber Every step counts as effort.
  • Marching in place No machine needed.

Courses

Four zones a lap, so you learn the line.

Every course is split into four areas with their own landmarks, so by the second lap you know where the next climb is. More courses arrive before launch.

  • City Circuit: the racing line curving between downtown towers.

    City Circuit

Downtown towers, the harbour cranes, Central Park, and Old Town.

  • Town Hills: the start line on a road winding through green hills and houses.

    Town Hills

Main Street, Church Hill, Lakeside Park, and Orchard Lane. The climbs slow you down.

  • Alpine Ridge: the road climbing through pine forest toward snowy peaks.

    Alpine Ridge

A valley lake, a pine climb, a snowy summit ridge, and a canyon under a stone arch.

  • Tropic Isles: a chain of sandy islands in a turquoise sea.

    Tropic Isles

Lighthouse Point, the Palm Keys, a smoking volcano, and the sea arches.

  • Night City: a neon-lit racing line between lit towers at night.

    Night City

The Neon Strip, the Night Market, Runway Lights, and Skyline Heights. Every building lit.

  • Lunar Run: grey crater mountains under a black sky, with Earth overhead.

    Lunar Run

Base Camp, the Crater Fields, the Highlands, and Shadow Canyon, with Earth overhead.

Rivals

Six rivals, one ladder.

Each rival rides at a fixed pace, recorded from real rides on real machines. Beat one to unlock the next and earn coins for your first win.

  • Pip
  • Juno
  • Theo
  • Kira
  • Rex
  • Vega

Hangar

Earn it, ride it.

Coins from your races buy new bikes and paint finishes, from metallic to chrome to neon. Bikes handle differently, but none is simply faster, so your records keep measuring your effort.

Comfort and access

Hands only, if you like.

Thrustline is fully playable with hand tracking, start to finish, with no controllers to hold while you work out. A comfort vignette softens the view in flight, music can be turned down or off, and passthrough shows your room while you set up.

Soundtrack

Original music, every lap.

Every track in Thrustline is original to ES Designs: the menu theme and a race playlist that runs under your laps. Press one to listen; the player stays with you while you look around the site.

Questions

Before you ride.

Which headsets does it run on?

Thrustline is built for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S. Quest 2 and Quest Pro are being tested before launch.

Do I need a sensor or a connected machine?

No. The headset reads the rhythm of your movement. Any elliptical, rowing machine, or stair climber works, or no machine at all if you march in place.

How much space do I need?

Your machine, set up the way you normally use it, with a clear area around it. Thrustline shows your room through passthrough while you set up.

Are the calories accurate?

They are an estimate, based on your effort against your own calibrated pace. Thrustline is a game, not a medical or fitness device.

What does it collect about me?

Nothing leaves your headset. There is no account, no advertising, and no analytics. The details are in the privacy policy.

When and where can I get it?

December 2026 on the Meta Horizon Store, as a one-time purchase with no subscription. Wishlist it on the store to hear from Meta when it's out, or join the launch list for one email the day it launches.

The road here

Three prototypes to one race.

  1. 2025

    Treadmill Walker

Walking through VR worlds on a treadmill: the first test of whether a headset alone could read a workout.

  2. 2025 to 2026

    Elliptical Explorer

A town and a city to explore on an elliptical, with coin, gem, and gate missions. It stayed in a private beta.

  3. 2026

    Thrustline

Flying low through the streets turned out to be the best feeling in the app. Everything else went, and it became a race.
